Kids spend too much time indoors: The average American child is said they spend 4 to 7 minutes a day in unstructured play outdoors and more than seven hours a day in front of a screen. The crisis over kids spending too much time indoors has become so apparent that it has a name: Nature deficit disorder. Most studies agree that kids who play outside are smarter, happier, more attentive and less anxious than kids who spend more time indoors.
By partnering with schools, Footpath believes it can bring vital outdoor experiences to kids who might otherwise never have them.
