Angela Yeager is our Footpath Friend of the Month for September! Angela started off as a volunteer for Footpath and we quickly realized what a perfect match she would be as a Footpath Board Member. We are now excited to announce that Angela is our new Director of Education and Programs! She developed our Footpath Nature Club curriculum and helped tremendously in the growth of outdoor programming.
“Angela’s spirit and dedication to connecting children to nature is unmatched. Her education and past teaching experience have led her to be an incredible Director of Education and Programs for Footpath. We are thankful to have her on our team,” Mary Macias, Footpath President & CEO. Read more about Angela’s passion for nature and her personal mission in life:
Why do you support Footpath?
My own personal mission is to get people outdoors in nature so it can work its magic of changing us for the better. Footpath does just that for underserved children.
What’s your favorite outdoor activity?
Anything involving the ocean, lake, forest, or desert! From hiking to watching my kids dig in the dirt in the backyard, every minute outside is a minute well spent!
What do you love about being outside?
We find what our soul needs outside. Whether it’s relaxation, adventure, focus, stress-relief, the sense of feeling small or connected or that feeling of endless possibility as you look at the horizon, you just cannot get that anywhere else in the same way.
Favorite childhood memory outside?
Most of my memories are outdoors; playing with friends, riding bikes at night, early mornings at summer camp in PA overlooking the foggy hills, and watching storms roll in from my front porch.
What’s an outdoor activity you’d love to try?
I’m long overdue for paddle boarding!
Favorite vacation spot?
Baja, California and Mexico
Favorite season and why?
Summer. Hot sun and cool water, what’s better than that?!
Anything you’d like to say about Footpath and/or the work you have done for us?
I’m honored to be the one to develop the Footpath Nature Club. It has pulled together all of the work I’ve been doing in education and nature for the last 15 years in a serendipitous way.
Thank you for all you do for Footpath, Angela! We are very lucky to have you! #kidsneednature
